BAND RULE

For Peninsula District Games Only!

Reference the Operational Procedures (Band) from the Peninsula District Handbook, Officials assigned to Peninsula District Football games will be aware of and consistently administer the following procedures:

– Band CAN PLAY; Before the game; during Time Outs; Immediately AFTER a score, but NOT BEFORE the Try for Extra Point is attempted (watch Referee for Ready for Play signal (whistle); and CAN PLAY BRIEFLY on a big play or exchange of ball after a big play.

– Bands CANNOT PLAY (Includes Drumming); While the game is in progress.
(NOTE! when the Referee (White Hat) blows his whistle to designate the Ball is Ready for Play, Bands should STOP all playing!).

– Bands CANNOT PLAY; While an injured player is down on the field.

If the above procedures are violated, the Referee will:

– For a FIRST VIOLATION (In Half), Warn (NO PENALTY) the offending team Head Coach of the incident and have the Band Director from his school follow the outlined procedures accepted by and approved by the PD Principals.

– For a SECOND VIOLATION (Same Half), by the same band, the Referee will advise the offending team Head Coach that the incident will reported to his Principal for disciplinary action.

PRE-GAME or HALF-TIME warm up playing should take place far enough away from the field of play as to allow the Band to warm/tune up and yet not interfere with players on the playing field.

REFEREE to cover this Procedure in the “Pre-Game” Brief with BOTH Coaches (Peninsula District ONLY!)
